Crispy air fryer chips
Proper crispy chips with a tablespoon of oil. Soaking the potatoes first removes starch, so they crisp up instead of going soft.
Ingredients
- 800 g floury potatoes, such as Maris Piper or King Edward
- 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
- Salt, to taste
Method
- Peel the potatoes if you like and cut them into chips about 1 cm thick.
- Soak the chips in cold water for 15 minutes, then drain and pat them completely dry with a clean tea towel.
- Toss the chips with the oil and a pinch of salt.
- Spread them in one drawer and cook on the French fries preset at 200°C for 18–20 minutes, shaking the drawer halfway.
- Season with a little more salt and serve straight away.
Tip
Cooking for more people? Split the chips between both drawers and press Match so both drawers use the same settings.
